Cheerleading

I have officially cheer-ed for 4 years!! 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. I was part of the founding team of the now Coed but previously it was an all-boys team called the Mickeymitez from SMK Damansara Jaya. I could remember those days where we would get insulted for being a cheerleader or get called gay from our friends after they found out we joined cheer ... but i would like to thank my friends from Kesatria who join cheerleading in 2009 as a house cheer team but didnt get to compete in Sports Day that motivated me and pushed me to join Mickeymitez. That year that i joined Mickeymitez and actually experienced competitive cheerleading, made me realized that cheerleading was something i really liked to do! That year itself, the new-ly formed team with 12 newbies decided to go and compete in the National cheer competition 2010. AND we won the Best Newcomer award and placed 13th out of the many other teams, we managed to beat many developed teams and as a newcomer this is actually an honor. This was before the guy and girls division was created, so placing top 15 in our first year is quite an achievement :)

Moving on, in 2011, was my senior year in Mickeymitez and guess what, this was the first year the StarRage decided to split the girls from the guys. All Girls division and a Coed Division but this was implemented late so, AllBoys could still compete in the Coed Division! After being stressed out by my captain and many people. We managed to come out as CHAMPIONS!! But i was pretty sad even we won because i didnt get to do my tumbling on that year and didnt showcase what i trained for..

Now in 2012 i left highschool and went to join Cheer Aspirations :) Well, it was either them or Cheer Aces Academy but i decided to stick with Cheer Aspirations as i had looked up to those people in Aspirations and being given the oppurtunity to cheer along with Usern & Chiaki (my tumbling inspiration), Jason (my basing inspiration), being coached by CheeWei and YeeMing (2 coaches which i believed have the ability to train a bad cheerleader like me into something) But anyways, i was put into the senior team, called Awesome :) and the junior team was called Aspire. Both Level 5 Coed teams. This was the year i was feeling so demotivated as i was around so many amazing people that i had freaking low self esteem and couldnt do well even with all my coaches and teammates pushing me.. I always had this "He is better than me" thought. But thanks to Coach YeeMing i managed to pass that mental block !! Unfortuneatly that year, Awesome got 2nd for c3 losing to cheer aces :( *sad face* But i continued cheering under CA Awesome Legends which is a Level 6 Coed team. but i didnt do much stunting as i was small so i did tumbling *yay me* hahah! but :(

FINALLY IN 2013... I quit cheerleading at the end of last year because i wanted to focus more in my studies as i figured that degree means i gotta be more serious as i wanted to finish it as fast i could :/ but around June / July, Coach YeeMing called me asking if i could join back cheerleading to compete under CA Awesome Prodigy, a level 5 Coed team. Apparently this team had only a consistent 10 people or less people coming to practice and they couldnt compete in C32013 unless i and a few super seniors join back. Amazingly, we managed to gather a final total of 24 people one month before comp and form a routine a week later. Nights of endless sleep was involved with me and coach as well as the other captains (heehee yes i was a co-captain ^^V)

This was the most tiring ever month i ever faced in cheerleading -_- omg i had to get back my skills that i used to have 6 months ago in like a week... CRAZY. hahah! but i managed to do it :) my roundoff bhs bt and my backtuck. but coach took it out because was unstable :/ but oh well :) Stable and cleaner is better after all! Music was only given to us 2 practices before comp after the DJ sent to us. Me and coach had to sit down and chat on fb from 11 to 3-4 am just to decide on the song choices omg headache!!

But the day finally came and it finally paid off when we were announced Champions for level 5 coed division! :) I swear that i was the most craziest happiest person!! Finally a GOLD!! AHHH!! but the best feeling was all CA Awesome teams won GOLD in each of their respective divisions! :) So so proud! :)

Anyways this is like a summary and finally an end to my cheer career as i dont think i would join cheerleading anymore.. *sigh* but once a cheerleader...always one :)
